A new perspective on networking and self-marketing for me.
Making myself marketable was always about my resume and posting online. The latter has been way less engaging and maintainable.
Social media like Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit don't cross my mind very often, and that is no different with LinkedIn. I don't feel like scrolling or posting myself. I was always like that.
Aside from YouTube, the only social platform I frequently use is WhatsApp. I feel way more willing to interact with people directly.
Thanks to my job, I have been participating in professional events. Siará Tech Summit is the third event. There, I got to present the company to the public with my boss.
While talking with visitors at my stand or being a visitor myself at other stands, I got to do a good amount of networking. People were nice and interesting. Although I am mostly an introvert and interacting with the public is not my natural inclination, I was enjoying it to some degree.
That good experience made me wonder about participating in more events in the future and having a company myself, primarily in order to do more meaningful networking with relevant connections. I would not just be an I.T. professional searching for opportunities, but I would also have a brand and clients behind me.
I am still not thrilled to engage on LinkedIn a lot, but let's see if my future plans are going to implement my current ideas.
At first, their solution looked like just a platform that integrates your data sources with an AI, but the value they propose is actually their own improved intelligent system based on AI, dedicated to business advice.
I don't know the details, but from what they told me, their system is made of many AI models running, graphs, search algorithms, and some AI output validation rules.
If I understand correctly, they use a layer of graphs and traditional search algorithms over a base made of multiple running AIs to output a better final result.
When I called their product "The automation of consulting," they said, "Now you understand."
They are an educational project that offers courses for free. It is not in my city, but it is not so far away. I have to take a look at their tech courses some day.
I got to know about it after speaking with some young people I actively called from the crowd to hear my presentation.
